Construction on the long awaited and much needed Cisco Bike Path on Nantucket is underway. Large orange barrels line the side of the road and heavy brush cutting equipment has begun to cut the path along the east side of Hummock Pond Road. A clear path can be seen from Cisco Beach to Bartlett’s Farm and just beyond.
Visitors to the Cisco area of Nantucket can be seen each summer riding their bikes to Cisco’s beautiful beaches and it is not rare to see a biker with a surf board in one hand and the handle bars in the other or a group of friends heading over to Bartlett’s Farm on their bikes for a pre-beach picnic or to Cisco Brewery after the beach for some late afternoon live music and libations in the outdoor courtyard. The new bike path will be a terrific addition to the Cisco neighborhood in Nantucket. We’ll keep you posted on progress!
