Sconset Sunrise

Nantucket island is  known for its unequaled vistas  all year round. While Madaket, on the west end of the island, is famous for it’s sunsets; on the other side of the island, the day begins with sunrises over Codfish Park in Sconset.  On a winding road just down below the center of Sconset Village is the tiny berg of Codfish Park, made up of a cluster of  cottages and beach houses that enjoy the hustle and bustle of summer and solitude of the quiet winter months.

Should you find four homes with lights on at night during the winter, it will signal that most of your Codfish Park neighbors are in residence! With very little outside light to compete with the night sky, the stars burn bright and clear, making one believe they are alone on the island.
