This recently updated Nantucket property includes a three bedroom home and one bedroom apartment. The apartment is on the second floor and could easily be reincorporated into the main house and converted into a 4th bedroom suite. A comfortable blend of contemporary elements adds to the charm of this Nantucket property. An inviting deck and stone patio provide spaces for outside dining and entertaining. Easy access to town, and west and north shore beaches makes this a wonderful location.

Most islanders and visitors to Nantucket property are well aware of the established non-profit environmental and land conservation groups. One such entity that I recently learned more about is the Linda Loring Nature Foundation at 110 Eel Point Road. The Foundation is dedicated to being stewards of the globally rare ecosystem (known as a coastal sandplain) and fostering learning that promotes environmental awareness. In the summer, programming includes nature, bird, and butterfly walks, and during the winter, their programming is more school-based. Future plans include a Nature Center on the property. E. Vern Laux is the Foundation’s Resident Naturalist and Land Manager.
This beautiful 107 – acre Nantucket property, located just off Polpis Road, hugs the shallow coastal waters of Nantucket Harbor and features a pristine 45 acre salt marsh, a fresh water pond, marsh, and swamp, and proximity to rare upland heath habitat. The field station offers free weekly nature walks throughout the summer from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you missed the tours this year, make sure it is on your list of things to do next summer.

Wonderful opportunity to own a water view compound on Hinckley Lane in the Cliff area. Having undergone an extensive renovation in 2006, the main house has been updated for gracious living both inside and out. This Nantucket property is two individual homes in condominium ownership being sold together. Newly constructed Hinckley Lane Association stairs provide easy access to a beautiful and private North Shore beach.
A Cheever Evening presented by Theatre Workshop of Nantucket, opened last Wednesday with a sold out house. This tragic comedy, based on the short stories of John Cheever, is a journey from the Upper East Side of Manhattan to Suburbs of New York to the North Atlantic coast. Beautifully adapted for the stage by A.R. Gurney, each scene gives you a glimpse into the everyday life of the upper class, revealing each character’s struggle with the life they are supposed to lead and their desire to take a new path. Gurney and Cheever brilliantly bring out the humor in their conflict.
Labor Day is now behind us and the time that many fishermen consider to be the the most exciting of the fishing year is about to begin. All around Nantucket island, the bait is plentiful which should entice the predators closer to shore. Bonita so far have been erratic although there was a good catch at the Bonita Bar off of Madaket over the weekend. The Spanish Mackerel are beginning to show up. Early morning at Great Point is your best bet for these delicious tasting fish. If you catch one and do not want to eat it you can be pretty sure the person fishing next to you will gladly accept it from you.
Despite warnings from local authorities, Gary “Kona” Kohner was one of a number of surfers who braved the rough waters of Cisco Beach as Hurricane Earl made his way up the east coast towards Nantucket property over Labor Day weekend.
