Roberta White was born and raised in Rhinebeck, NY until her family moved during her high school years to Manchester, VT. She graduated from Burr and Burton Academy in 1984 and from the University of Vermont in 1988 with a B.A. in English and Art History. After spending the summer in Vermont, Roberta acted on a lifelong dream by moving to Nantucket for the winter. She fully intended to attend graduate school the following fall. She began her professional career in finance at Nantucket Bank. During this time, she developed an interest in real estate because she was in charge of the marketing of the bank's OREO property (other real estate owned) prompting her to pursue a career in real estate instead. During Roberta's sixteen years of real estate experience on Nantucket, she has distinguished herself as a keen listener, a caring professional, and a successful principal investor. Over the years, Roberta's enthusiasm, skills and success have led to dozens and dozens of enduring relationships. She instills great trust and loyalty amongst her clients who then become her friends. She is a true people person and has a great love for life. While she has considerable experience throughout the island, as a current owner of properties in Madaket and 'Sconset, she has particular affection for the east and west ends of the island. She and her husband, Bill live in Fisher's Landing with their two pre-teens, Willie and Charlotte. Roberta has been an active community volunteer, serving on the board of the Nantucket New School for many years as well as on the vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She is presently serving on the capital campaign committee for Small Friends on Nantucket. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family, reading, the ocean, and taking long walks with her two yellow labs, George and Teddy. Having just turned forty, it is her goal to run a road race in the near future.
